He's not doing much at the moment, is he? Anyway, it doesn't work. He's fresh out of ex-criminal, just [__] coins everywhere and scams people on his platform, and he's going to be the advisory firm to these governments - to what, to buy? And he's going to get more buying BNB and every other crap going under the sun instead of just Bitcoin.
All right, guys - welcome back to another episode of Brick Corners. This is Britcoiners, episode 168.
Uh, please like and subscribe, and join our Telegram chat to be part of the conversation.
Okay, uh, agenda this week - we've got, uh, Cambridge's Bitcoin mining.
We've not got that. Well, it's ticked. Don't know who's ticked - I ticked that. We're meant to be waiting for Dave to come back.
Okay, fair enough - conversation after, we'll do that. We're waiting for Dave because he'll be excited for that.
Okay, right, we'll save that for next - few days, back then.
Uh, industry - bit of industry drama. Bitcoin Mechanic has apparently been banned from, uh, from GitHub.
HM Treasury claiming 12% of UK residents own crypto.
Steven Bartlett selling all his Ethereum for Bitcoin.
Eric Trump talking about banks adopting crypto strategy, buying more Bitcoin.
Trump wants crypto because otherwise China is going to get it.
Had an update on Florida's Bitcoin reserve bill - and bills in general.
A bill and bills in general.
Our favourite website got vetoed, as we were predicting.
All right, well - do you want to start there? Do you want to work backwards? We've jumped into it.
Whoa, whoa, whoa - we've got to do price first.
Okay. Current price: 94,000.
Last episode's price was 95, and then high since last episode has been 97.7.
So are we hovering? What's that - oh, we've just come up to 94?
I don't think at that point.. okay.
Didn't quite hit 100?
No, but edging back towards that. Nothing really to add to the price. Don't have anything to say exciting on the price at the minute.
No, it's nice to see it back up obviously, but yesterday was weird.
Actually, I do have something on yesterday - ETF inflow yesterday was like 400 mil overall inflows, yet the price went down. That was odd to me. On a sizeable inflow day, you wouldn't generally see the price go down - you'd generally see it go up or hover, and it actually went down.
Which - any.. well, was that suspicions? The only thing I saw was - didn't Michael Saylor announce a buy then? And usually the price does go down after he announces buys, which is ridiculously backwards, isn't it? But it is.
Yeah, but, um, just with the ETF inflows yesterday - were 420 mil, 430 mil, whatever it was. It's a lot more than Michael's buy.
Yeah, his was 180 mil. So it would have made no sense that he's made the price go up prior to that announcement, and the ETF at 400 mil has not - has made the price go down.
Feels like there was a big seller there, but I don't know.
Yeah, maybe it's just a liquidity issue temporarily - like buy and sell orders might have just been very thin for some reason. Bank holiday weekend in the UK - obviously US was not a bank holiday, I don't believe?
Um, no, it was open yesterday. ETFs were open, weren't we? Um, yeah, I don't know.
It just - it was a bit odd. Doesn't correlate. So there must have been a big seller somewhere.
Okay. Um, right - well, do you want to start talking about the.. go back to the bills, work backwards through this agenda this week?
So this was - well, Florida's bills - both of Florida's reserve, Bitcoin reserve bills, have been indefinitely postponed and withdrawn. Freaking - from consideration.
I missed - did you see this, Mikey?
Yeah, I just saw it. Only put up, uh, when was it - yesterday? I missed this completely.
But yeah, it only got to the first stage of committees. So it didn't - didn't get past a single stage of voting.
Why has it been indefinitely postponed? It's a good question. I thought - I thought Florida were quite a pro..
Well, yeah - the, uh, governor, whatever they call him - he's, like, massively into it. He started his own - he mines and stuff.
Yeah. So I don't understand what's happened at all. That's a weird one. Doesn't say why. Very odd...
